Dallins interpretation of "Sick", by Shel Silverstein

Last night was Art's Night at the elementary school. It is like a talent show. Students can display art, or perform anything they choose. The night always is fun with a lot of variety. Last night we got to see gymnastics, jumping rope, break dancing, ventriloquism, singing, piano playing, etc.... The clip I put on is what Dallin chose to do. It was so fun. I, of course, missed the beginning because my camera was set wrong, but for those of you who have not heard this poem before the part we missed is:
"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Billy Bob McKay (Dallin put in a boys name because in the actual poem it is a girl)
"I have the measles, and the mumps,
A gash, a rash, and purple bumps.
Enjoy the rest by Dallin.

My kids love to participate! Sadly Brynn did not make the primary's for Student Body officer. She had decided earlier that if this didn't work out she would run for class office instead. And, even though she has taken it really well and been very positive, she is not sure she wants to run for class office now. It's hard, but she is a real trooper!

Very well done Dallin! Funny!

Brynn, sorry you didn't make the primary's. I never did either when I ran. It's a lot of work, but always a good experience! Don't be discouraged about running for class office...and if you decide to do it...Good Luck!! :) Love you all!

Dallin!

That was awesome! Shel Silverstein writes some pretty great poems and stories that make great monologues, and you performed it great! I love it! You are a funny guy, that takes a lot of talent.

Brynn...just keep at it girl! You are a beautiful, fun and talented girl, so don't let this one set back get you down. Good luck with class office....or whatever you decide to do next.

Dallin that was great!! I remember a New York University Drama scout telling Mike a good comedian who can make the audience laugh takes the most talent of all. I think you are on your way. Awesome job!

Sorry Brynn you didn't make the primaries, but something really great is in store for you. It always happens that way. Something great!! Stay positive and striving always for the best you.
